Education Students Present at Autism Conference

Dalton State students seeking out the School of Education's autism endorsement were given an opportunity to present research during a recent autism conference at the Dalton Convention Center.

Students presented on specific, research-based strategies to help teachers work with children who have autism in classroom settings.

The conference, sponsored by the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership, serviced parents, professionals, medical professionals, and educators, as well as individuals on the autism spectrum.

The autism endorsement is a nine-credit program that is designed for current students in education or other fields where they may work with autistic children, as well as certified professionals who already work with autistic children. For more information on the program email Dr. Roben Taylor, assistant professor of education, at rtaylor6@daltonstate.edu.
